Lil Wayne: Sounding very alive on new album “Funeral”

Lil Wayne is easily the most recognizable and loved rappers of this century and is wildly considered the Goat, for his contributions and influences to the culture of Hip Hop. With that being said, Wheezy has blessed fans once again.

Lil Wayne, otherwise known as Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., drops new album “Funeral”, after 3 years since its announcement. With features from Big Sean, 2 Chainz,  XXXTentacion and many others, the track list is filled with varied beats and a diverse subject matter. “Funeral” is Wayne’s 13th studio album and his 42nd total project.

Wayne seems to use the same kind of symbolism as other long time MC Eminem has with his most recent Album “Music To Be Murdered By”, by using death as a theme on his album cover, the projects name, as well as its subject matter.

“Funeral” is Carter’s most recent album since “Tha Carter V” which was released in 2018 after much anticipation and received high praise from critics and fans alike. Though, this time around, Wayne’s selection of beats is a bit heavier on the dark and ambient end of things than he is on the bubbly and ecstatic side.

But regardless of the beats, Wayne delivers the hard hitting, auto tuned bars that fans expect from him over every single track, often outdoing whoever is featured with him on the track.

At 24 tracks (1 hour 16 minutes total), fans can expect another Lil Wayne classic. With witty punchlines, legendary lyricism and help from acts like Lil Baby, it is safe to say that the Goat has delivered for us once again.
