Aly Raisman takes a stand when she hears about the settlement offer towards Larry Nassar.

Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman called and had proposed a new settlement by USA Gymnastics “offensive” and said the organization is blocking efforts to get all the details of how former doctor Larry Nassar was able to sexually abuse numerous athletes for years.

She had been in an interview for the “Today’s show” about a $215 million settlement founded by the USA Gymnastics.  The Washington Post had sent out a news article about how the   reported the settlement would compensate victims in a system that depended on where the abuse happened and the professional level reached by each athlete.

The settlement apparently would also release former USA Gymnastics president Steve Penny, former coaches Martha and Béla Károlyi, and other U.S. Olympic officials from liability charges.

“It’s honestly offensive,” The Olympic says, “It shows they don’t care. They’re just trying to push it under the rug and hoping people will forget about it when they watch the Olympics this summer.”

And Ally Raisman is definitely not the only one feeling frustrated and hurt by all this, Simone Biles had put her opinion out with Aly in a tweet she had sent. And former Gymnast, rachael denhollander had joined the tweets and put her opinions out there.

“The problem is I don’t know exactly,” Raisman says about the “cover-up” accusation. “I don’t know all the answers. And in order to make real change, we need to understand exactly what went wrong.

In conclusion I believe that they deserve answers. And closure to this whole incident. It’s an awful thing to imagine what they’ve been through. And I don’t fully understand why the corporations are letting this settlement take place.

It’s terrible that this man might be released from jail after assaulting so many young athletes. It does feel like they are trying to make everyone forget.

The sexual abuse of gymnasts is absolutely horrifying, and it is sad that the U.S. Gymnastics Program is not being more transparent.
